Our Story
At Godfrey Learning Academy, we are passionate about helping children unlock their full potential through a well-rounded education. Our microschool was founded by experienced teachers who witnessed the injustices of public school systems firsthand. Driven by a desire to truly reach and support every child, we created a safe, nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
In traditional public schools, we struggled with the demands of overcrowded classrooms, frequent distractions, and excessive administrative responsibilities that often left little time for individualized attention. These challenges made it difficult to provide the personal support each child deserves. At Godfrey Learning Academy, we’ve embraced a different approach. By focusing on a small group of students, we can prioritize meaningful, one-on-one interactions and foster the kind of learning environment every child needs to grow and succeed.
Our curriculum emphasizes personalized instruction in reading, math, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) subjects. Through engaging, hands-on lessons and a focus on critical thinking and creativity, we help students build confidence, embrace challenges, and discover the joy of learning.
We believe education should be tailored to meet the needs of each child. That’s why we partner with families to create a collaborative journey that supports every student’s unique potential. Together, we’re transforming education into what it should be—focused, personal, and truly impactful.

Hi, I’m Ashlynn Godfrey, and I’m passionate about helping children succeed both academically and personally. With a background in elementary education and a master’s degree in Education Technology and Instructional Design, I’ve spent years developing creative and effective ways to make learning engaging and meaningful for every student.
I’m currently in my fourth year of teaching, and throughout my career, I’ve focused on identifying and addressing knowledge gaps to help students reach their full potential. I’ve been fortunate to see the results of this dedication, including my students achieving top regional scores on standardized tests for two years in a row.
I founded Godfrey Learning Academy because I wanted to create a space where students can truly thrive—free from the constraints of overcrowded classrooms and excessive demands found in traditional public schools. With small class sizes and personalized instruction, I can focus on meeting each child where they are and helping them grow as learners and individuals.
As a lifelong learner myself, I believe education should be joyful, empowering, and accessible to all. I’m committed to providing every student with the support and encouragement they need to build confidence and develop a love for learning. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, tackling new challenges, and continuously improving my teaching methods.
